Bernt Arne Ødegaard

Bernt Arne Ødegaard is a Professor of Finance at the University of Stavanger (UiS). He has a PhD from Carnegie Mellon University (1992). He has previously taught at the Unversities of Illinois (Chicago) and British Columbia (Vancouver), the Norwegian School of Management BI (Oslo), the Norwegian School of Economics (NHH), and Copenhagen Business School (CBS), and has been with the Norwegian Central Bank’s research department. Together with Magnus Dahlquist he recently made an academic evaluation of the Norwegian Government Pension Fund Global (the “Oil Fund”) on behalf of the Norwegian Ministry of Finance. His research interests include empirical asset pricing, market microstructure and corporate governance. His research is publised in journals like Journal of Finance, Review of Finance, Financial Management, Journal of Financial Markets, Journal of International Money and Finance and Journal of Banking and Finance. He has, with Professor Peter Bossaerts at Caltech, written a textbook: Lectures on Corporate Finance.
